Welcome to our weekly recap of goings-on in the North American DotA community!
This was a very exciting week, and not just because Mel Gibson's career died.
- NADS' proprietary tournament, Sunday Evening Cup Series completed the first round of its fifth iteration, SECS 5.0. The victors were the upstart underdogs, tl:dr, who trumped Team AzN. Check out full details here.
- The Razer Global Challenge is reaching the end of Regional Qualifying stages. A few well-known teams are competing to move on and achieve eternal glory. Check out the brackets here and root for your favorite underdog!
- IceFrog leaked another sneak peak at version .68! Included are short blurbs about a change to -Captain's Mode, a new item (Orb of Venom), and a new Aghanim's Scepter effect for Tiny. Check it out on the legendary blog.
- DotA Founding Father Pendragon recently posted a full-length letter about his departure from the DotAsphere to jump on the LoL train. A terrible piece of news, indeed. Read the blood-stained letter here, originally posted on the dying DotA-Allstars.com forum.
- In a follow-up to the Casters vs. Crew DotA Cast challenge, there will be a Users vs. Casters game. Check the posting at GosuGamers for rosters and some pre-game smack-talk. GO CASTERS!

- American Pro and future medical genius Ben "Mer-lini" Wu is in the final stages of his DotA retirement. Get inside the mind of the legend here and shed a tear over his farewell blog.
